2004 South Top Prospect Showcase
Kramer Copp is a 2005 pitcher from Ponder, TX, with a slender 6'1" frame and a young looking body and face. He threw 78-81 mph in Waco with a big breaking downer curveball that was 63-65 mph. Copp has more arm strength than he’s showing, as he opens extremely early in his delivery with a big back arch that limits lower half involvement behind his pitches. Copp showed good arm mechanics and arm strength during infield workouts so he has a good arm. Actually, Copp impressed us just as much with the bat as he did as a pitcher. He generates good bat speed from an open stance with a nice, level line drive swing. Copp hit the ball hard both in batting practice and in games, and it’s worth following him as a third baseman as well. Kramer is a good student.
