2006 California Uncommitted Showcase
Joshua Kubinski is a 2007 C/RHP with a 6'2'', 180 lb. frame from Artesia CA, who attends Valley Christian HS (Cerritos, CA). He has a rangy, lanky body type that has some present day strength, and more to come. Kubinski is an interesting player, one that looked like he is on the verge of moving into a higher category of players. Keep an eye one him. Offensively he has some power that will develop in the future. His swing has some length that works for him, as long as his timing is good. His barrel stays in the zone a long time, which allows him to drive balls hard the other way. His hands work well too. Kubinski looked to be a solid candidate for an RBI spot in the order. Defensively he showed a good, loose arm that should continue get stronger. He flashed very quality catch/throw tools and overall brings a very coachable skill set to the position. He is agile, which served him well to block and get in a good receiving position. He is quiet behind the plate, his hands are strong and he will be an above average receiver in time. Expect his pop times to keep getting lowe too. Kubinski takes his time now, working on developing consistent footwork and accurate throws. Follow him closely, he is on the verge of really putting it all together.
