2003 South Top Prospect Showcase
Golson showed a package of not only the best tools in the South Top Prospect showcase but very likely the top package of tools in the nation. He began by running a 6.42 and a second time of 6.35 in the 60, threw several 95 mph missiles from the outfield and put on a display of launching shots deep into both gaps during batting practice. His first at bat resulted in the most impressive F-7 we have seen this year coming off a 93 mph fastball and nearly penetrating the clouds, being caught at the wall. His bat-speed is presently Major League level and his instincts and actions show MLB baseball readiness. He is a potential early draft pick and one of the top prospects in America. The entire package!
