Greg Pustizzi is a physically solid and strong 2005 catcher from Medford, NJ, that we’ve seen at events in the past. He has polished baseball skills both offensively and defensively and has a chance to be a very solid Division 1 catcher. Pustizzi generates very consistent pop times in the 1.90 to 2.00 range during workouts and has plenty of good arm strength to throw out runners. He has good foot and upper body quickness behind the plate and his throw times are held up, if anything, by his somewhat long arm stroke. At the plate, Pustizzi has a good, balanced load and develops very good bat speed with a sound fundamental swing. We can see him being a key offensive contributor at the next level in addition to his defensive skills. He is good! Greg is also an outstanding student.
