Edgardo Y. Alvarez-Deming is a 2024 OF/RHP, MIF with a 5-7 150 lb. frame from Las Piedras, PR who attends BYOU Academy. Recorded a 7.49 second 60-yard dash time. Primary outfielder with a medium frame and lean athletic build. Deliberate footwork on approach in the outfield with fundamental one-hand gather to exchange. Full arm swing carrying his weight to a high slot release on throws to the bases at 72 mph. Online accuracy with some carry on throws from the outfield. Soft hands to both sides with feel for the glove in the infield. Clean funnel out front with accurate throws across at 75 mph. Secondary right-handed pitcher with an abbreviated windup working from the first base side of the rubber. Belt-high lift with a medium arm swing to a 3/4 slot delivery down the slope. Fastball up to 72 mph (1401 RPM) with curveball 62 mph (1946 RPM) and changeup at 66 mph (1307 RPM) for a three-pitch mix. Can really spin a breaking ball with depth controls the spin on his changeup. Right-handed hitter with an even base and balanced stance in the box. Short knee-turn trigger getting the weight to the backside and solid swing path through the zone. Feel for the barrel with good timing and barrel control to all fields. Impact to the pull side staying connected with strength out front. Excellent student.
