Tyson Martinez is a 2008 outfielder with a 6'2'', 178 lb. frame from Longmont, Colorado, who attends Longmont High School. Martinez has a nice frame that is athletic. Ran a good sixty time at 6.97, and he showed that speed in the outfield as well. Martinez moves well in the outfield charging balls well with good footwork. He has arm speed that produces throws with good carry. During one of the showcase games, Martinez went a long way for a ball, and then threw a strike to the plate to nail the base runner. Offensively he is a right handed hitter who hits from an average base with a short stride. He has a flat swing plane with solid bat speed through the zone. He turns on the ball well and he gets leverage at the point of contact that shows projectable pop. He has good hands in his swing. He is an aggressive player, and a good student.
