Aiden Coats is a 2027 RHP/OF/3B with a 5-10 178 lb. frame from Winterville, NC who attends Junius H Rose. Strong young body with some physical maturity for his age. Works from a very high leg raise delivery on the mound from a short side step start, stays balanced well and has some flow to his delivery, good direction down the mound, medium length 3/4's arm stroke, solid mechanics to build on. Fastball worked in the upper 70's mostly and topped out at 81 mph, maintained his velocity well and threw his best fastballs in his 3rd inning of work. Change up was his best secondary pitch this day, has good firmness and arm speed. Tends to cast his breaking ball at present and can get out front with it more consistently. 7.45 runner in the sixty. Played both outfield and infield and looked much more comfortable in the outfield, made a quality game throw from the outfield to almost nail a runner at the plate to show off his arm. Right handed hitter, hits from a wide and slightly open stance with a limited shift into contact, swings hard with an opposite field oriented swing, found the barrel well in game at-bats. Named to the 13U/14U Atlantic Coast Top Prospect List.
