Charlie Kulak is a 2027 1B/LHP, OF with a 5-11 138 lb. frame from Southlake, TX who attends Southlake Carroll. Medium, square shouldered frame with a lean build and room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.93 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, deliberate tempo to actions away from the bag, fields it out front and glove plays at the ball, mid line transfer, easy movements into throws across the diamond; similar pace to actions in the outfield, works around the ball well, long arm action through the back, occasionally gets uphill with release, shows sound fundamentals. Also pitched, compact actions on the mound and maintains direction down the mound, short arm action in the back and creates some angle at release; quick look on the mound, topped out at 65 mph with fastball and pitched to contact, filled the zone and showed occasional cut action. Left-handed hitter, begins with an open stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Contact oriented approach, gets steep at entry on occasion, best when working on a linear path through the zone. Gets the barrel out front, and turns it over, bat speed will continue to develop with added strength. Very good student.
