Matthew Brown is a 2024 RHP/3B with a 6-5 205 lb. frame from Carlisle, ON who attends Waterdown. Long and lean athletic build, very long arms, lots of room to get stronger. Has a very simple delivery with a quick semi-stretch start and a compact high slot arm action, medium effort at release, high leg raise and swing out front creates some inconsistency. Fastball topped out at 94 mph, works consistently down in the zone with his fastball and gets heavy sinking life, consistent sub-2000 rpm fastball spin characteristics, produced steady ground ball contact. Maintains full arm speed on his slider but will change his arm action on the pitch, will get around the pitch at times, has tilt and power but not much bite. Impressive two pitch mix with room for mechanical and physical growth. Good student, verbal commitment to Oklahoma State.
