Colin Mitchell is a 2025 LHP/OF with a 5-11 173 lb. frame from Edina, MN who attends Breck. A bigger frame and build with strength that showed. Ran a 7.57 60-yard dash. Primary left-handed pitcher who worked from the wind-up. He sidesteps into a leg lift up above the belt, coiling as he does so. He throws from a three-quarters arm slot with a longer arm stroke, creating some whip to the arm through release. He moved well down the mound with good arm speed overall. The fastball worked up to 81 mph and had good arm-side run and sink to it. The slider showed sweeper traits, and he had a good feel for the pitch locating well. The pitch played well, and overall, he was able to mix the two pitches for success on the mound. He threw 3.0 innings of scoreless ball while allowing just 1 hit with 3 punchouts. Missed some bats and was able to get the job done. He's a left-handed hitter who uses a wider base with higher-set hands and the back elbow up. He uses a hovering leg lift as a trigger to get on time. He's quick with the hands, showing present bat speed in his operation. Direct path with the barrel, looking to get to the ball out front and drive it pull-side. He had some well-struck liners through the right side of the field. Repeated the operation well during his round of BP swings and showed strength off the barrel. Added a hit in-game as well. Also worked out as an outfielder, fielding the ball one-handed off of the front foot with one-hop accuracy to the plate during his round of throws. He comes through it well, maintaining his momentum with clean fielding actions. The transfer was smooth, and the ball came out well at 83 mph. Longer arm stroke with lower throws that carried and stayed on-line. Great student. Named to 2023 Midwest Prospect TP List.
