Sam Smith is a 2028 OF/LHP/1B with a 5-8 145 lb. frame from Portland, OR. Smaller frame with a thin and athletic build. Ran a 7.17 second 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, good energy to actions and easy mover, takes good angles and works around the ball well, fields out front clean and shorter arm to release, stays on top of throws and up to 76 to bags. Pitches too, stretch only and medium length arm stroke, gets some downhill plane to the fastball up to 76 and runs it some, solid shape to breaking ball that flashed well. Left-handed hitter, clean base and starts open, has some quickness to the hands and fires well on a linear plane, not super strong yet but flashes strength off the barrel, controls it well as a whole.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
