Ben Klassen is a 2024 SS/RHP/2B with a 5-8 130 lb. frame from St. Charles, MO who attends St. Dominic. Recorded a 7.63 second sixty yard dash time. Medium frame and lean build with plenty of room to fill moving forward. Primary shortstop, fields the ball out front with two hands, shows and active feet and keeps them moving through the fielding process. Showed the ability to throw from multiple slots and make plays on the move. Has decent body control, hands will continue to soften with added repetitions. Secondary right-handed pitcher with a high leg lift and an online stride, utilizes a compact arm circle land throws from a high three-quarters arm slot. Fastball lacked significant movement and life, developing command at present. Flashed a curveball with deep 11-5 shape, had developing bite and feel for the pitch. Also featured a changeup to complete the three pitch mix. Right-handed hitter with an open and staggered start, constantly resets his feet in the box. Utilizes a toe tap timing mechanism and a flat bat path through the zone. Developing bat speed and barrel control with limited impact at present, will improve as he continues to fill out the frame and get stronger. Showed a mid-field approach. Excellent student.
