Asher Wright is a 2027 1B/LHP, OF with a 5-8 175 lb. frame from Irvine, CA. Features a bigger build with some strength present. Ran a 7.84 60-yard dash. Worked out at first base and in the outfield. Charges the ball well in the outfield. Still developing ability to maintain momentum through the catch point. Threw 78 mph during workouts. Moves well around the bag at first base. Caught the ball consistently. Displayed a clean transfer into strong, accurate feeds to second base. Left-handed hitter. Utilizes an open stance with a small leg kick timing mechanism. Gets into the lower half well. Swing on a lofted path with some feel for the barrel. Uses strength to drive balls well when squared up. Left-handed pitcher. Utilizes a semi-windup delivery with drop and drive mechanics. Moves well down the mound. Hides the ball within short arm action. Throws from a low 3/4 slot with solid arm speed for the age. Creates a good angle at release. The fastball sat 76-79 mph with slight armside run. Goes right at hitters with the offering. Paired it with a curveball at 56-59 mph with big, slurve action. Can land it for strikes often. Will get hitters out front with it. Named to the 13u/14u West Coast Prospect Top Prospect List.
