Gabriel Norman is a 2027 LHP/1B/OF with a 6-3 175 lb. frame from Melbourne, FL who attends Rockledge. A taller and lean frame with a slender build. Higher set waist. Projectable frame with room to continue adding in strength moving forward. Ran a 7.81 60-yard dash. A primary left-handed pitcher who has a bigger leg lift up above the letters working out of the wind-up. Has an old-school over-the-head motion, taking the hands over the head as he steps back before engaging in the leg lift. It's a fluid move and motion as he works down the mound. Has a higher front glove point as part of the delivery but pulls himself through release well from a three-quarters arm slot. Showed a longer arm stroke with some looseness to it. The fastball worked up to 86 mph with life to it. He paired that with a changeup that worked into the mid-70s with good fade to it, locating it well. Also showed a bigger 1/7-shaped breaking ball, back-footing the pitch well as needed. Relied heavily on the fastball/changeup to right-handed hitters and then fastball/curveball sequences to left-handed hitters but was not afraid to mix pitches at all. Punched out 4 opposing hitters over 2 and 2/3 innings of work. Projectable actions on the mound. He's a left-handed hitter with a wider base, higher-set hands, and a high back elbow. He starts spread in the lower half with an open setup. He was able to turn it over during his round of swings. Was able to get the barrel on it and show off some bat-to-ball skills during his round of BP swings. Produced an 80 mph exit velocity during PG Tech testing. Added a base hit in-game as well. Also worked out as an outfielder with looseness to the arm. Throws carried well from the outfield at 85 mph. He fielded it cleanly and produced accurate throws. Took longer strides to the ball with a smooth exchange and was very loose and strong with the arm overall. Also worked out as a first baseman, fielding it up the middle with two hands and being able to keep throws on a good flight across the diamond at 83 mph. Had a shorter arm action and made good feeds to second. Excellent student. Named to the 2023 14u Perfect Game Select Festival.
