Alex Valentin is a 2023 LHP/1B, OF with a 6-0 215 lb. frame from Hollywood, FL who attends ESB Academy. Physical, strong build with good size and maturity to lower halves. Primary left-handed pitcher, works from a rhythmic and deceptive three-quarter slot with a pause at the top of leg lift and plenty of angle at release point. Hides it well and shorter arm action comes out late. Real mover down the slope. Four seam fastball operated low-90s with arm-side life. Also mixed in hard sinkers in high-80s. Slider comes out of similar tunnel with late sweep and bite for whiffs, real enticing offering. Also flashed a late breaking ball with depth and changeup with depth and arm-side fade. Tons to like on the mound with feel and command, fills the zone at will. Also a left-handed hitter, gets the hands loaded and works pull-side with strength. Big power potential to the pull with really good impact coming off. Loud upside on the hill. Named to Top Prospect list. Good student. Verbal commitment to Miami.
