Owen Murphy is a 2022 3B/RHP with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Riverside, IL who attends Riverside Brookfield Twp. Medium, physical frame with strength throughout, additional room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 6.92 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, fields it out front with two hands and shows a quick release with a cleaner arm stroke through the back, will continue to refine overall footwork, solid arm strength and carry across the diamond, projects to stay on the left side, shows accuracy on throws as well. Also pitched, full arm stroke through the back, present arm speed with three-quarters release on fastball which topped out at 92 mph, mostly true in life; shows a feel for changeup at 83 mph with fading life and mixed an 11-5 shaped curveball up to 75 mph. Right-handed hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Creates contact out front with a clean swing path, gets extended at the point of contact and generates line drive contact to all parts of the field, can continue to implement additional lower half into swing.
