Chase Adkins is a 2019 OF/RHP/UT with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Saint Louis, MO who attends Mehlville HS. Very projectable build, athletic and lean frame with broad shoulders and endless room to fill out physically. Ran a 7.19 second 60 yard dash. Primary outfielder, fields the baseball cleanly staying balanced with good footwork, average arm strength on throws topping out at 79 mph. Also pitched, present athleticism displayed in delivery, long arm action to an over the top arm slot, utilizes lower half well, extends well downhill and releases the baseball out front get out over front foot, tends to open up to glove side, velocity dropped slightly from the stretch, would like to see the lower half used equally as much from the stretch as the windup. Fastball shows cutting action when down in the zone but did flatten out when left up, mixed in an 11-5 curveball with some depth, kept both pitches around the plate with solid command. Righthanded hitter, narrow base, upright stance, high hand set with a high back elbow, slight weight transfer, would like to see the lower half used more, rotational swing pulling the front side some, showcased a slight lift in the swing with some feel for the barrel, middle of the field approach when squared up.
