Michael Ray is a 2017 SS/RHP, OF, 3B with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from North Augusta, SC who attends Fox Creek Charter. Medium, athletic build with some quick-twitch elements and solid overall body control. Worked out in the outfield, shows smooth fielding actions and works through the ball well. Also, worked out in the infield and moves well laterally, has some quickness. Solid arm strength, up to 82 mph in defensive drills. Right handed hitter, narrow base setup, leg lift trigger with quiet hand load. Inside hand path, shows comfort in working up the middle. Line-drive swing plane, repeats approach pretty well and flashes some feel for the barrel in contact-oriented swing. Also pitches, online delivery with leg lift below the belt in energetic mechanics. Hides ball pretty well and works quickly. Fastball up to 81 mph, is quality pitch when located to the bottom of the zone. Has confidence in curveball and will throw in any count, pitch has quality bite and 11/5 shape with solid depth. Excellent student.
