Jaxson Wood is a 2026 SS/2B with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from Hoover, AL who attends Hoover. Smaller young athletic build. Very quick twitch athlete, 6.61 runner in the sixty, speed plays up on the field due to his quickness. Primary middle infielder on defense, has very quick feet and lots of bounce in his actions, stays low behind the ball, big range potential, strong arm that plays higher than the velo numbers, has all the actions and athleticism to be a standout defender. Right handed hitter, hits from a wide base with a big leg raise load, gets his foot down on time, has fast hands and some strength at contact, ball comes off the barrel hard with line drive contact to all fields. Plays with energy and is fun to watch. Good student, verbal commitment to Tennessee.
