Charlie Cassingham is a 2025 SS/RHP/C with a 5-8 160 lb. frame from Huntsville, AL who attends Virgil Grissom. Recorded a 7.13 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop with a medium build. Showed bounce to actions with good fundamentals and clean footwork. Natural actions in the dirt and displayed a solid arm across the diamond with accuracy. Also worked out at catcher, starting from a lower set. Gained ground well and employed efficient movements. Showed the same good arm strength, recording a best pop time of 1.90. Left-handed hitter and begins from a medium base with open feet. Stays short to the ball with a direct path to the ball. Stays linear through the zone and went the other way with comfort. Used all fields during the round, showing gap-to-gap power. Secondary right-handed pitcher and pitches exclusively from the stretch. Employed a leg lift to core level, landing slightly open at foot strike. Used a short arm action, releasing from a high-3/4 slot and running the fastball u to 83 mph. Athletic operation and quick arm, mixing in a tight curveball with spin around 2700 RPM. Changeup also showed good depth and got some bad swings on the offspeed. Great student.
