Drake McBride is a 2024 OF/RHP with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Maylene, AL who attends Thompson. High-waisted frame with an athletic build. Ran a 6.60 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder who showed off the length in his frame, working to the ball with athletic actions. Had a clean gather off to the side with a smooth round fundamentally. Had a clean arm stroke with throws working downhill. Showed easy one-hop accuracy during his round of defense. Throws were up to 86 mph from the outfield. A right-handed hitter who keeps an even base and starts upright in the batters' box. He was rotational through the swing with a simple stroke. Produced an 86 mph exit velocity and was able to show some line drives pull-side. Was a bit rotational through the swing. A right-handed pitcher who threw from a lower slot with a short stride as he moves down the mound. Had some arm speed and was able to pound the zone during his outing. Induced weak contact. His slider had some horizontal movement to it, working around 76 mph and spinning at 2,281 RPMs. His fastball had some arm-side run when he stayed on line, working 83-85 mph and spinning up above 2000 RPMs. Great student.
