Matthew Skelton is a 2024 RHP/1B, 3B with a 6-4 200 lb. frame from Suwanee, GA who attends Sugar Hill Christian Academy. Tall, slender frame with some present strength and room to add. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.58 seconds. Primary position RHP using a semi-windup delivery and angled transition down the mound. There is an ease to his operation as he lands slightly across his midline adding another layer of deception to his tall, down hill release. He worked into a high 3/4 arm angle with a long full arm path that produced a FB that peaked at 73 mph with some arm side run. His secondary offering was a CB with 11-5 shape in the low 60's that showed nice bite when thrown firmly. He showed the willingness to double up the off-speed pitch as well. Secondary position 1B working high in his legs but the glove was reliable and his throws were firm and accurately on the bag. RHH using a narrow and tall stance and a toe tap for his trigger. He works the hands to develop his bat speed, gets on plane early leading to a flat bat path. When on time he produces low line drives gap to gap. Outstanding student.
