Nick Maldonado is a 2020 C/ with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Chula Vista, CA who attends Eastlake. Ran a 8.00 second sixty-yard dash. Athletic frame behind the plate. Starts from a low and open stance. Feet work quick, replacing the feet well and gaining ground to second base. Stays under control throughout, with a 2.01 second pop time. Developing arm strength and accurate throws to the bag at 73 miles per hour. Upright and slightly open stance at the plate with a simple front side trigger and rotational lower half. Clean hand path to the baseball and a middle of the field to pull side approach. Developing bat speed, and was able to drive a double down the pull side line in game action. Excellent student.
