Ray Berry is a 2020 RHP/2B with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from Chilhowie, VA who attends Chilhowie. Medium frame with athletic, projectable build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.60 seconds. Hits from slightly open stance, large leg lift trigger with hip coiling back into load, line drive swing plane with pull-side approach, showed good contact skills, developing power. Worked out in the infield, clean funnel out front with hands, fields cleanly, works through the ball well, shows range, clocked up to 71 mph across the diamond. Also pitched, offline curled arm stroke with some rigidity, full effort release with head snap, fastball worked 71-77 mph with some cutting action at times, showed ability to sink it as well, worked in curveball at times. Very good student.
