Jordan Cooper is a 2008 RHP with a 6'2'', 195 lb. frame from Berryton, KS who attends Shawnee Heights HS. He has a strong, mature athletic body. Cooper has a multi-piece delivery with a long arm action and a mid 3/4's release point. He isn't especially consistent with his release point or mechanics now but there is nothing major to be done. Cooper's fastball was in the 88-92 mph range and he liked to ride it up above hitter's hands and challenge hitters with it. His breaking ball was an 80 mph slider that showed a sweeping 2-plane break and had some sharpness at times. Cooper also showed some feel for an 80 mph change up. Cooper has some feel for pitching and three solid present pitches to fine tune and develop. Cooper swing the bat pretty well in Cincinnati, too; his strength serves him well and he showed the ability to center up on the ball and hit it hard to the right side of the field. Cooper is an excellent student off the field.
