James Marin is a 2021 SS/RHP with a 6-0 150 lb. frame from The Woodlands, TX who attends The Woodlands. Medium slender build with plenty of room to fill out as he continues to develop. Primary infielder, fields out in front and funnels well. Moves well to his glove side and shows good comprehension for his footwork. Throws are accurate across the diamond. On the mound, has a long and loose arm action from a three-quarters slot. Quick motion with some deception throughout his motion. Quick twitch actions on the hill looks to change his tempo as well. Fastball up to 80 mph, mixes in a low 11-to-5 shaped curveball with good depth and developing vertical actions. Also throws a 74 mph knuckleball with good dancing actions to the plate as well as a 68 mph changeup. At the plate, uses an even and upright stance with a toe tap trigger. Shows an ability to get the barrel out in front on inside pitches. Smooth overall stroke, hands work to the inside half of the baseball with consistency. Great student in the classroom as well.
