Ben Barrow is a 2023 C/RHP, 2B, 3B, OF with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Jacksonville, FL who attends Providence. He ran a 7.69 second sixty. A primary catcher with a lean athletic frame. Behind the plate he starts in a square stance, he showed good glove work receiving the ball with soft hands and transferring it quickly, he doe a nice job gaining ground into his throws with clean footwork and get rid of the ball quickly recording a 1.95 second pop time. In the outfield he works well behind the ball carrying his momentum well into his throws with good athleticism in his actions and plenty of carry on his throws at 88 mph. On the mound he works with a steady tempo down the mound and a long arm action through the back up to a high three-quarters arm slot, he worked the fastball up in the zone in the 81-84 mph range and flashing cutting action at times, his curveball showed sharp downer break with tight spin and plays well off of his fastball. Right-handed hitter, he showed good twitch in the hands with a linear bat path coming through the zone, he showed good feel for the barrel and the ability to create back spin to the pull side. Excellent student. Named to the 2020 National Underclass Main Event Top Prospect List.
