Derrick Mitchell is a 2023 OF with a 6-3 200 lb. frame from Plano, TX who attends John Paul II. Tall with wide shoulders and an extremely athletic look with lots of room to hold strength. Ran a 6.56 in the sixty yard dash. A switch hitter. LH-quicker hands with strength through the zone and the ability to lift already. Solid upside with big power potential. RH-Good balance with a level path through contact that creates lots of line drives. Pretty short stroke with good feel for the barrel. A primary outfielder, really athletic movement patterns with good feel for rounding the ball and working through his approach. Light on his feet with a centerfield profile. Excellent student.
