Chandler Williford is a 2019 RHP/IF with a 6-3 170 lb. frame from Newton Grove, NC who attends Midway HS. Recorded a 7.35 second 60-yard dash time. Tall and physically projectable frame with broad shoulders and room to add strength. Primary righthanded hitter with a simple behind the rubber rocker step into a leg lift at the belt. Long and full arm action with an over the top arm slot. Heavy downhill plane on the fastball that was up to 85 mph. Drives well off the backside and creates push off the rubber. Big breaking curveball with quality depth to the pitch. Shows a cut fastball with late life to it that makes it difficult on hitters of the opposite handedness. Attacks with fastballs and racks up a lot of swing and miss within the strike zone with the pitch. Balanced delivery and repeats well. Flashed a changeup that showed promise and he should go to more often. Secondary infielder with present arm strength and smooth hands. Footwork works well through the ball and has advanced feel for the position. Hands work well although size of frame will probably dictate a third base future. Righthanded hitter with a spread open stance. Leg lift trigger into contact with hands close to his body. Finishes well through the ball and gets extended through the point of contact. Named to the 2017 Atlantic Coast Underclass Showcase Top Prospect List. Tremendous student.
