Chris Bookhultz is a 2020 RHP/3B with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Brookeville, MD who attends St. Johns College HS. Strong, athletic build with broad shoulders and present strength proportioned well throughout frame. Ran a 7.74 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, shows a full arm swing through back side working to a submarine slot, will occasionally raise and work low three-quarters while maintaining velocity and life. Does a nice job of repeating delivery, sound glove side mechanics and finishes on line, can continue to incoroprate additional lower half. Fastball topped out at 73 mph, shows sinking action from release and lives around the zone, able to induce ground ball contact. Hides ball well and stays low in zone, mixed curveball and slider from low three-quarters slot, sweeping life with 10-4 shape on slider, keeps hitters off balance. Fields the ball out front in the infield, short arm action and shows quickness to arm, ball comes out well and can throw from multiple arm slots with balance, long strides up the middle. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set pulled back and utilizes a toe tap trigger for timing at start of swing. Full swing path through the zone, looks to elevate the ball at point of contact and shows carry when squared to pull side. Upper body dominant swing and occasionally pulls front side early, worked the middle and pull side parts of the field with comfort. Very good student.
