Caden Marcum is a 2022 RHP/OF with a 6-5 160 lb. frame from Paola, KS who attends Paola. Extra-large, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, lean and projectable build with room to fill and develop throughout. Right-handed pitcher, side step moving into a higher leg lift up past belt, tall on back side; plus arm speed through the back working to a three-quarters release point, some effort at release. Fastball topped out at 91 mph, good spin on the heaters and shows riding life to it through the zone, generates extension out front, more velocity in the tank come physical maturation. Slide topped out at 80 mph, solid secondary offering with hard tilting life and plays off of the fastball well; mixed a changeup at 83 mph, will continue to refine a consistent feel for the pitch, flashes occasional fade with deception. Very good student. Verbal commitment to Tennessee.
