Deury Carrasco is a SS from the Dominican Republic. Young athletic build, projects well physically. 7.20 runner, has smooth actions in the infield and a quick and sure glove, fields the ball out front, outstanding raw arm strength with big carry on his throws, footwork can get a bit choppy at times but still shows range to both sides. Switch-hitter, much better swing and bat speed from the right side at present, tends to hit with a dead lower half from the left side with a sweeping arm swing. Inside line drive swing path from an open start from the right side, contact approach but is able to show his hand quickness. Would be interesting to see on the mound. International free agent.
