Cole Phillips is a 2022 RHP/OF with a 6-3 198 lb. frame from Boerne, TX who attends Boerne. Large, athletic frame with long limbs and present strength to frame, additional room to grow moving forward. Right-handed pitcher, begins with a side step moving into a leg lift up above belt; long and whippy arm action through the backside working to a three-quarters release point, ball jumps out of hand well. Effort at release, fastball topped out at 93 mph, will continue to establish consistent release point, shows plenty of arm quickness and generates sinking life when down in the zone. Hard biting life to slider up to 80 mph and lands it well, showed best at highest velocities and has potential as an out pitch. Excellent student. Verbal commitment to Baylor.
