Josue Valdez is a 2021 C/3B, OF with a 6-0 200 lb. frame from Bronx, NY who attends Salesian. Recorded a 7.18 second 60 yard dash time. Large frame and thick build with present strength. Primary catcher with a narrow stance and quick feet, lower half moves well and shows solid fundamentals. Quick transfer with a longer arm action and release, will improve as he cleans up the hands and shortens the arm action. Right-handed hitter with a low hand set and even base, utilizes a big leg lift trigger to create good separation and rhythm within the swing. Hands are quick to the ball, shows good balance and the ability to elevate. Cuts the swing off a bit at the end, displayed heavy hands with loud impact and good carry off the barrel during BP. Pull side approach, swings with high intent but is under control and balanced, consistently made contact out front. Can really impact the ball and has exciting power potential. Good student.
