Shreyas Sekhar is a 2022 LHP/1B with a 5-9 143 lb. frame from Warren, NJ who attends Watchung Hills Reg H. Recorded a 8.06 second sixty-yard dash time. Smaller frame with plenty of time to fill out and add strength. Primary left-handed pitcher; simple delivery with good rhythm and tempo to his movements, efficient lower half mechanics and feel for pitching. Works from an over-the-top arm slot with slight offline direction on the backside of the arm swing and developing arm speed that will improve with physical maturity. Fastball worked in the mid-to-upper 60s, topping out at 69 mph with natural arm-side run to it. Pitched off his breaking ball quite effectively, flashing the ability to disrupt timing and land it for strikes. The curveball developing spin traits that will continue to show better with more physical maturity. Secondary first baseman with deliberate footwork around the bag, deep fielding funnel and developing arm strength across the diamond. Recorded arm strength up to 70 mph in drills. Left-handed hitter that hits from a fairly even based stance with a high back elbow and leg lift trigger. Developing bat-to-ball skills with some present compact bat speed and feel for the barrel. Middle-of-the field approach with line drive barrel plane and occasional impact. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and additional strength. Good Student.
