Jayden Chance is a 2019 C/RHP/3B with a 5-7 160 lb. frame from Bonaire, GA who attends Veterans High School. Younger player with a lean, slender build, athleticism, and room to continue to fill out physically and add strength. Posted a 7.52 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary catcher, showed a quick arm and quick footwork. Short arm action with a clean release and arm strength up to 76 mph. Posted a workout pop time of 2.07. At the plate, started with an upright stance, slightly open base, and used a contact oriented approach. Swing path naturally worked up to the ball with good lift off the barrel. Longer hand path at times with a good idea at the plate. Should engage lower half more and continue to drive the ball. Also pitched, started with a higher leg raise into body, deeper hip turn, and worked from the middle of the rubber. Landed slightly closed down the mound with a short, compact arm action through the back. Some effort through release and threw from a higher three quarter arm slot. Fastball worked 78-80 mph with mostly true action with occasional plane to the lower third. Showed good feel to spin with 12/6 shaped curveball with good, late break and command of the pitch up to 69 mph. Exceptional student.
