Drayton Williams is a 2016 C/3B with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Glen Rose, TX who attends Glen Rose. Medium, athletic frame with solid body control, strength, and athleticism. Primary catcher, has quick actions and footwork, can rush through occasionally and get offline, but receives the ball well and has solid arm strength. Popped as low as 2.00 seconds in defensive drills. Also worked out in the infield and outfield, has solid footwork and approach to the ball in the outfield, arm works well and is accurate. Right handed hitter, very wide base with slightly open feet position, shifts to closed with stride. Bat waggle setup, shows some hand quickness and bat speed, flashes solid extension at times, maintains balance and a level swing plane. Drives ball into the gaps, shows some feel for the barrel and power potential. Very good student.
