Matheu Nelson is a 2018 C/1B/3B with a 5-11 195 lb. frame from Largo, FL who attends Calvary Christian HS. Medium build with good present strength. Good set up behind the plate, balanced quick actions, compact arm and release, repeats his footwork and mechanics well, very good raw arm strength, has all the tools and fundamentals to be a high level defensive catcher. Right handed hitter, has quick hands at the plate, hand load is a bit busy, quick direct swing once he gets it going, consistent line drive contact, works the middle of the field. Polished player.
