Jonathan Childress is a 2018 LHP with a 6-4 215 lb. frame from Forney, TX who attends Forney HS. Long and loose athletic build, good present strength, very long arms. Creates outstanding angle from a high 3/4's arm slot, hides the ball well in back, good lower half coil, clean arm coming through, repeats his delivery well. Fastball topped out at 93 mph, works fastball to both sides of the plate. Curveball is a potential plus pitch, has tremendous feel for it and can change the shape and velocity at will while throwing strikes. Didn't throw a change up this outing but has shown a nice one at other events. Verbal commitment to Texas A&M. Selected for the 2017 Perfect Game All-American Classic.
