Joey Wentz is a 2016 1B/LHP with a 6-5 209 lb. frame from Leawood, KS who attends Shawnee Mission East HS. Extra large athletic build, very projectable physically, prototype pitcher's build. Left handed hitter with a hand drop load, long and loose swing with an inside hand path, timing can be late from his load, has big strength at contact but tends to be too inside the ball at times, has the strength and ability to develop big power with adjustments. Good student, verbal commitment to Virginia.
