Erik Miller is a 2016 LHP/OF with a 6-5 205 lb. frame from St. Louis, MO who attends De Smet Jesuit HS. Big strong and mature upper body, narrower lower half. Calm leg raise delivery, high 3/4's arm slot, creates very good angle to the plate, accelerates well to his release point, low effort release, very polished mechanics for his age. Upper 80's fastball, topped out at 89 mph, pretty straight with occasional late diving action, can spot the fastball to both sides of the plate, has some deception as hitters were consistently late on the ball. Curveball has tight spin and some bite, located his curveball well and could use more often to set up hitters, will drift in his delivery on the curveball at times. Developing change up but flashed feel and quality. Stuff was better across the board from the wind up. Impressive left hander with plus mechanics and plus command potential. Excellent student, verbal commitment to Stanford.
