Bryce O'Brien is a 2016 SS/C, 2B, RHP with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Woodstock, GA who attends Etowah. Well-built, strong, large frame with solid mix of athleticism and strength throughout body. Hits from narrow base with open stance, leg lift trigger with heavily rotational swing. Stroke is relatively smooth in upper half but doesn't bring weight through to contact in lower half. Hands work well in swing, has some loft, would unlock more power with better utilization of lower half. Showed solid actions defensively, fields cleanly and gathers well, shows solid arm strength across diamond up to 84 MPH. Projects best as a pitcher, where he showed very good rhythmic tempo in delivery with good direction and drive to the plate. Fastball worked 82-85 and touched 86 with heavy, sinking life and solid command. Mixed in solid CB with 10/4 slurvy, sweeping action; also showed CH with good velocity differential from FB and good arm speed. Named to 2015 Southeast Uncommitted Showcase Top Prospect List. Good student.
