Matthew Golda is a 2017 SS with a 6-0 182 lb. frame from Bradenton, FL who attends Inspiration Academy. Medium athletic build. 6.75 runner, has outstanding defensive actions at shortstop, hands are quick and sure, very quick release, can throw from multiple arm angles while on the move with accuracy, hands and release are absolute top level, will play shortstop for a long, long time. Right handed hitter, busy hand load, short swing with an inside swing path, high contact line drive approach and will hit to all fields, should continue to improve offensively with additional strength. Will play at a high level based on his defense alone. Verbal commitment to Florida Atlantic.
