Jason Rooks is a 2017 OF/RHP with a 6-3 220 lb. frame from Marietta, GA who attends Walton HS. Big and strong athletic build. Runs very well for his size, 6.84 in the sixty, has athletic actions in the outfield, fields the ball cleanly out front, long and loose arm action with good carry, arm strength can increase even more with better lower half throwing mechanics. Right handed hitter, hits from a tall stance, has very quick hands and a short swing for his size, creates bat speed, not consistent yet in his shift and hand path, ball comes off the barrel well, more strength in his swing with more core/lower half use. Very toolsy and strong player who can keep improving. Verbal commitment to Georgia Tech.
