Hanson is all about projection. At 6'5/210 he looks the part and has plenty of room to increase strength. He's not a present day hard thrower, anyway not in Lincoln. He topped out around mid 80s. He features a big slow 12-6 curveball that was very effective. He also threw a slider/slurve around mid 70s that was sharper. Hanson also showed a nice changeup. He pitches and changes speeds very well. While his body says power pitcher, his technique is more finesse like or surgical. You have to wonder, what if he were to gain 5 or 6 mph on his fastball. That is probably going to happen in the future.
