RHP Aaron Weatherford (Fairhope, AL): Weatherford is an athletic looking 6-1 right hander with a high leg kick delivery, high ¾’s to overhand release and a very quick arm. He was steady at 89-91 mph in Cedar Rapids, maintained his velocity from the stretch and had some cutting action at times. Weatherford also threw a 81-83 mph true slider that had good 2-plane break at times and a fading 82 mph change. We’ve heard that Weatherford is being considered as a 4th-6th round pick by scouts in the South and that’s consistent with what we saw. The thing that stands out are the verified reports of Weatherford holding low 90s velocity for a complete game. If he's not selected high enough it's off to Mississippi State where he will help immediately.
