Hardon is a 6-3 junior right handed pitcher from Arizona with a very nice pitcher’s body that has plenty of physical projection. He caught our attention during outfield drills when he threw 86 mph with a very smooth, low effort arm stroke. Hardon still threw well off the mound but watching him throw from the outfield gives us plenty of reason to think he still has more in his arm. Hardon throws from a deliberate, controlled delivery with a high hand break away from his body. He has some drop and drive to his approach, which negated his height and the long, loose arm stroke he showed from the outfield. Hardon’s fastball was in the 81-83 mph range with occasional sinking action. His curveball was 66-67 mph with decent spin and action to it. Hardon should keep the potential to be an outfielder in his future as well. In addition to his outfield arm strength, Hardon has a good bat that projects big power down the road with some refinements and added physical strength. He hit very well against live pitching and looks like the type of athlete who is going to keep improving. Hardon is a good student.
