Kyle Lafrenz is a junior college C with a 6'3'', 200 lb. frame from Sioux City, IA, who attends Marshalltown CC. Lafrenz was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 2006 draft. He has a good frame with present strength. His strength is behind the plate. He has soft hands and is a good receiver with pure arm strength. He consistently had pop times under 2.00 in game action with his throws on the bag. Lafrenz also has quickness behind the plate with good blocking ability. At the plate he has solid bat speed and gets extension through the ball. Has the ability to hit to all fields and will take the CB the other way. His strength is his defense and arm behind the plate.
