2004 Indoor Pitchers/Catchers Showcase
Kyle Knudson: Knudson is only a sophomore but this 6-3, 200 lb. catcher from Minnesota has the kind of physique you find in Division I lineups right now. Knudson showed very nice defensive skills for his age, shifting well behind the plate, receiving the ball comfortably and gunning the ball down at 77 mph, very nice arm strength for his age. Unless he keeps growing and gets too big, Knudson looks like he’s going to be a solid defender at the next level. Knudson had some power and raw bat speed and looked like he had a right centerfield approach at the plate. His offense is behind his defense right now but he has plenty of time to catch up. He's a DI prospect already.
