John Hochstatter is a 2011 LHP/1B with a 6-4 205 lb. frame from Danville, CA who attends San Ramon Valley HS. Big strong build, especially in the lower half. High leg raise delivery, extended 3/4's release, short stride and hard over front leg, would benefit from lengthening stride. Mid 80's fastball topped at 87 mph, occ late arm side run. CB shows good spin, deep 2-plane break, change also flashes quality with occ plus life, arm speed inconsistent on off-speed this outing. Has the potential to keep improving. Also hits, aggressive swing with lift/power, good balance, pull/lift approach. Good student.
